Mid-1800s Drop Leaf Dining Table

This lot is Civil War era (1850s-70s) It has the simple turned legs of that period. It operates by a leg on each side for support of each leaf. It appears to be made of solid Walnut. The table is approximately 44 inches wide across the middle. When the leaves are up, it is approximately 48 inches long. When we bought it from an estate, it still has the 1200 price tag from when they bought it. We used it some as an extra holiday guest table and when folded down as an accent, back of sofa table. That’s the good news. The wide planks do show 150 years of use. We like it that way, but some good furniture oil will clean it up. Unfortunately, when we were moving and staging it, one of the iron hinges on one side broke. So, one, maybe two, hinges may need repairing or replacing. It’s well worth the effort.
