Rare Original Scott Muller Surrealist Poster

This lot is a large framed poster by the famed Chicago photographer, Scott Mutter (1951-2008). Mutter started off his career photographing the peace and civil rights protests. He later became famous for his “surrealism” photography. Using old fashioned darkroom techniques, he would merge to photographs together. His works are in collections, galleries and museums around the world. His estate sold out in 2015, and decided not to authorize any reprints. This poster for sale is a great example of his work. At first glance, you see a black and white interior shot of the Chicago Cathedral. But, then you realize the center aisle is actually a Chicago street scene! A perfect Mutter “Surrational Image”! The print was done in 1993. It is framed. The frame is approximately 27.25 inches wide by 39.25 inches high. It is original and it has his copyright information along the bottom. It is ready to hang up on the wall of your home, office or gallery. The Mutter estate sold out of his remaining prints and posters in 2015. It decided that it would not reprint anymore of his works.
