The 2015 UNESCO World Heritage Sites stamp series, which included the 1.20 stamp dedicated to Dinosaur Provincial Park (located in the top-left corner of the sheet). This stamp indeed contained a major geographical error: the image used to represent the park depicted hoodoos located near the town of Drumheller, about 200 kilometers away from the actual provincial park. This blunder led to an official recall by Canada Post, which pulled and destroyed stocks of this stamp to replace them with a corrected image. However, it is not technically Canada Post's very first stamp recall in history (as the Crown corporation had previously experienced other recalls or replacements, such as the Pachena Point lighthouse stamp in 2007). Nevertheless, it remains one of the most publicized and sought-after stamp withdrawals by collectors of varieties and philatelic errors in Canada.
This complete souvenir sheet features a magnificent collection of stamps highlighting various UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canada, including Dinosaur Provincial Park, Wood Buffalo National Park, Red Bay Basque Whaling Station, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, and Kluane/Wrangell-St. Elias/Glacier Bay/Tatshenshini-Alsek. With detailed border information, barcodes, and crisp imagery, this pristine sheet is a magnificent find for advanced collectors seeking striking thematic pieces and modern Canadian philatelic errors.
