Lot #91: Antique Art Deco Twin-Light Smoking Stand Floor Lamp

Exceptional antique Art Deco smoking stand and floor lamp combination, likely dating from the 1920s–1930s. This is an unusually elaborate example combining decorative lighting with the smoking accessories typical of the period. The upper section features two tall textured glass illuminated columns with geometric diamond-patterned glass. Between them is an ornate cast-metal architectural panel centered by a striking classical sun-face medallion, surrounded by scrollwork and decorative detailing. Below is a substantial embossed metal smoking platform incorporating two ashtray/cigarette receptacles and covered compartments. The pedestal is accented with a beautiful cream marbled glass or onyx-style insert with amber and reddish-brown veining. The heavy circular base has an embossed classical border and decorative feet, completing the highly detailed design. The combination of the twin illuminated glass columns, smoking stand, figural sun medallion and decorative glass pedestal makes this a particularly unusual surviving piece of early 20th-century lighting.
