Lot #40: Vintage Asian Figures

A charming lot of Asian figures in a variety of materials. Includes a resin figure of the Chinese old man who represents winter and longevity, holding a peach, emblem of immortality. His base is missing one leg, as shown. Another resin figure, also an old bearded man, holding a carp, symbol of good fortune, on a stand, with original Golden Crown E & R Italy decal (Ebeling & Reuss, manufacturers of porcelain, ironstone, earthenware, and other items). Two porcelain figures, both stamped China on the bottom, one old man winter again with his staff and peach, and the other a man with a fan, symbol of imperial power, and an elaborate hairdo. Both are glazed in rich colors. A polychrome porcelain young woman with fan and wearing pants, inked Made in Occupied Japan on bottom. A solid brass figure of a turbaned man, origin unknown. Finally, a contemporary piece from the Franklin Mint "Children of the World" collection. Hand-painted on a pewter form, this piece shows a young Japanese girl crossing a bridge, with a parasol and small bouquet. Bring box and packing material.
