information about this potter or the
country of origin.
• I believe it was made in Canada, but it
also has the &#34;feel&#34; of a vase originating
from Japan.
• The vase has a &#34;crackly&#34; Celadon glaze
on a stoneware clay body.
• The vase with four &#34;points&#34; protruding
from the upper section, which is
traditional on ancient Japanese pottery.
• The chop mark is in the shape of a
person, similar to many Japanese hanko
(#I]7) symbols.
• Fired to cone 10 gas fired.
• In very good condition, no breaks or
cracks, but unfortunately, it has a chip on
the lip, but beautiful none the less.

have a label, and there is possible initials
of &#34;H&#34; or others, I have not been able to
pin down the maker of this piece.
• This style was incredibly popular in the
1950&#39;s and 1960&#39;s, often featuring
abstract &#34;melting flows&#34; or
&#34;volcanic&#34; glazes in the teal and white tones.
• While this piece is not marked, it
resembles the technique used by Bellaire
or Bovano of the &#34;drip&#34; or &#34;poured&#34; glaze effects.
• The back has the exact same type of
finishing of the RIVERBANK STUDIO in
Dublin, Ireland used by Patsy Lawlor.

• This has been identified as Spalted
maple, because of the wavy grain
patterns and natural wood sheen.
• The box has been well turned with
seasoned wood, so the lid fits extremely
well.
• The cluster of small, dark circular marks
are characteristic of burl wood, which
contains small knots or &#34;eyes&#34; formed
from abnormal tree growth.
• Both the top of the lid and the bottom
base has subtle details to enhance the
form.
