This Inuit soapstone carving depicts a hunter at a seal breathing hole. The specific artist of this piece is Pinnie Nuktialuk. (Birth 1930- death 1969) He was from Inujuak formerly Port Harrison. Pinnie was part of the first generation of Inuit artists whose work was popularized in the 1950s and 60's. His work is known for the popular "Port Harrison style" The disc number E1-462 E1 is the region Nunavik and 462 is the artist's ID. The height of this carving is 13 in, in height and the base measures approximately 10 in by 5 in. There is no paperwork available for this sculpture. The information is as per resources available and has been described too the best of our ability.

Hi, The description mentions Pinnie Nuktiluk from Nunavik, but the photos seem to say Baffin Isalnd, NWT. Is there any paperwork/ disk with the piece to confirm?

Please be sure to select a time slot that you are certain you will be able to attend. Alternate pickup times may or may not be accommodated and if accommodated may result in additional fees.
Claims for refunds can be made only in certain limited circumstances. Where an error in the lot description has occurred on an item you purchased, let the seller (or their representative) know immediately upon pickup so that it may be rectified. Except for limited circumstances, refunds are subject to processing fees.
Maxsold does not arrange shipping; however, you can make your own arrangements at your own risk.
