A History of Medicine in Pictures Parke Davis & Co 1957.  Complete 45 print series of “A History of Medicine in Pictures” produced by Parke, Davis & Company. The series depicts the development of medicine beginning in ancient Egypt. Other prints depict Hippocrates, Vesalius, Lind, Jenner, and Pasteur. The prints were meant to be framed, and included a description of each that could be attached to the backs of the framed prints. The cover shows its age but the pictures are in excellent condition. COMPLETE SET: A History of Medicine in Pictures Parke, Davis &#38; Co. 1957.

Chinese cloisonne enamel bowl made with the technique of Plique-a-jour (means &#34;letting in daylight&#34; in French), a challenging method similar to small scale stained windows originally developed in the Byzantine Empire in 6th century AD. Using no backing and translucent enamel, it creates small jewel like piece.  The miniature compartments &#34;cells&#34; were filled with enamels of different colors to precisely carry out the design while letting the light through.
This was made in the late 19th or early 20th Century, but the exact time period is unknown.
Measuring approximately 6 inches In diameter & 3 inches tall. No chips present.

This map, originally published in 1703, was one of the most important and influential maps of the region for its time. It was the first map to present the Great Lakes correctly in relation to each other and to Hudson Bay. The map covers the United States north of the Chesapeake and all of Canada, including Hudson Bay and Baffin Bay. It incorporates information from recent explorations and Jesuit missionary reports, including many Indigenous place names and settlements. The map was highly influential and remained one of the best maps of this region until the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The glass is very hard and sturdy, which is why they are more appropriate for dessert, but can also be used as martini glasses if one wishes.
