Pair Signed Tighe O'Donoghue Prints

Tighe O'Donoghue of Ross (1942-2023) was born and schooled in New York City, served in the US Air Force, worked for Doubleday Publishing, illustrated several books, taught art, lived off the grid with his wife and young son, and decided to claim his heritage as hereditary Chief of Loch Lein, relocating to County Kerry, Ireland, where he trained his children as his apprentices, and created several monumental sculptures for what became known as The Sculpture Road to Killarney. Whew. He was at home in a wide variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, watercolor, stained glass, and printmaking. This pair of aquatints focuses on recurring motifs in his prints: musical instruments, geometric shapes, objects from nature. His works are held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Brooklyn Art Museum, the Smithsonian National Collection of Fine Art, and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, among many others. Signed in the print and signed and numbered, in pencil, in the border.
