Stoneware Bowl with Sgraffito

• This bowl has a simple form, but a major impact. The contrast between the interior and exterior compliment and distract at the same time. • A high fired stoneware clay body with rich iron deposits in the clay resulting in the "iron spots" seen coming throughout the matte teal interior glaze. • The exterior is not glazed, and shows the potters sgraffito design, where they have "rubbed" and removed manganese dioxide from the grooves. • From the design, and glaze of this piece, I would dar it 1990 to 2000 in production. • Fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln. • This piece has been signed by the potter with the initials " Janet", but I have not been able to find information about the potter. • In excellent condition, no breaks, cracks. or chips.
