most durable natural fibres: hemp and

mixture of cotton and hemp. The make
up is 70% Hemp and 30% Cotton.

durability and versatility.

manufacturer, has a history dating back
to 1865 when it was founded in Saxony.
The company gained recognition for its
decorative and art deco glassware,

After being expropriated in 1950,
production resumed in Siebenstern,
Germany, in 1951.
• This bowl dates to the 1970&#39;s through
the 1980&#39;s.

• This is a vintage medium sized
Jardiniere from China that was made
between the 1970&#39;s and the 1980&#39;s.
• It was mold cast, and black stencil lines
were fired onto the clear glaze. The
coloured enamel was applied by hand,
so there are slight differences in how
much colour was added.
• The pattern repeats twice, and there are
25 different flowers or combinations of
colours on each side.

coloured glass with a unique floating
bubble design.

Krosno Glass S.A. was founded in 1923
and continues to operate from their
factory in southeastern Poland, because

Krosno Poland Hand Blown Amethyst &#38; Bubble Vase

• I believe it&#39;s redware clay, but it might
be that it is porcelain covered with iron
oxide mixed into a slip. Either way the
clay itself had iron deposits as they show
through the greyish glaze.
• The use of chrome as a colourant for
the eyes would place the date of this
piece after 1975.
• The traditional feldspar used in Kyoto
ware results in crackle glazes. I believe
this is a cone 10 wood or gas fired piece.

• This piece may have been don by
Margot Page in Duncan, BC., but there is
no signature to confirm this.
• To create the heron image, the artist
sifts finely ground colored silicates onto
copper or steel blank. These are fired in
a kiln at high heat, fusing the powder into
molten glass.
• The design is interesting in that it has
been cut into section and is an irregular
shape.

• This is a hand made slab built vase.
The upper section has five panels with
arched tops which is attached to an
upside down bowl form. The potter has
added arms and legs to the various
sections of the piece.
• Each panel of the vase has a person or
child decorated in cobalt oxide. Some
figures are more defined then others.
• White stoneware, cone 10 gas fired.
There are some cracks and repairs, but
these were either done before the vase
was fired in the kiln, or occurred during
the firing. But no further cracks or chips
have happened since the pot was fired in

• The base shows the potter&#39;s signature,
but I have not been able to find any
further information.
