Pair of Antique French Quilt Pillows #2

The second pair of pillows depicts a rural scene with what looks like a soldier going off to war, another common scene often found in Toile de Jouy fabric fashionable in the 18th century, the period when Toile originated. Due to the quilt's age you can see that the colour has faded slightly but still has much life left in it. The pillows themselves have an off white backing- the rectangle pillow has embroidered initials of "L R" - both have feather inserts with invisible zipper closures.
